What Is My First Vote?

My First Vote is a place for all young people who will be casting their first presidential votes in the 2008 election to gather, discuss, research, and learn.

It's a place to talk about the political issues that are important to you.

It's a place to listen to differing views.

It's a place to ask questions that you think might sound dumb. 

It's a place to ponder the 2008 presidential election.

It's a place to discuss issues that only first time voters face. 

Most importantly, it's a place that gives you room to develop and use your political voice.

Looking For Contributors

PNN.com is looking for a group of politically motivated teenagers who will be voting for the first time in the 2008 presidential election.  We want to help give you a voice in this upcoming election.

Who we are looking for:
    Approx. 6 main contributors who want to post on myfirstvote.pnn.com a few times a week.
    Millions of other contributors who want to interact with their peers on myfirstvote, but don't want the responsibility of being a main contributor.

What we want main contributors to do:
    Be the first members to contribute their 2008 election experiences on myfirstvote.pnn.com.  We want you to write about what is important to you in this election.  Write about the candidates, the issues, put together a "how to register to vote" guide, interview your friends to find out their thoughts about the election, document your political volunteer experiences the options are wide open.  You can create posts in the following formats: text, graphic, audio, and movie.

Why you should do it:
    Young political voices need to be heard too.
    It's a great way to gain knowledge about the election.
    You may get a chance to interview a presidential candidate.
    It will be a great addition to college applications and/or resumes.

Qualifications:
    This must be the first time you are eligible to vote in a presidential election either due to age restrictions or citizenship restrictions. 
    You must be planning on voting in the 2008 election.
    You must be willing to post on myfirstvote.pnn.com a few times a week.

1.    Your name
2.    Your age
3.    Your school and/or job
4.    A little something about why the 2008 election/voting/politics are important to you.
5.    A few ideas you have for posts.
