The Future May be Dire...
The Future May be Dire...
The world's oil supply is petering away as we speak. Oil production is on the decline. Experts say that by 2030 Oil production will be at about half what it was. A 50% decrease in production. In the 1970's a 5% decrease in oil production caused petroleum products to quadrouple in value. The difference between then and now, is that oil production will continue to decrease for years to come, until we literally run out of the stuff.Doesn't seem all that Significant? No oil means no more cars. No more technology. No more food production. The economy of the entire world is dependent on oil.
"...approximately 10 calories of fossil fuels are required to produce every 1 calorie of food eaten in the US."
The reason America is in the Middle East right now, is not to prevent terrorism, or to find WMDs or even to make money for oil companies... it is to ensure that by the time the oil crash really hits us, that we'll have enough oil to ensure our country survives while the rest of civilization collapses into anarchy. How do you think they feel about that?
And sadly, no, neither Hillary or Obama will do anything to stop it, because truly, it's the only solution that Washington can come up with. The same think tank is coming up with both of their foreighn policies. "The Center for American Progress" or CAP, plans on continuing the wars in the middle east, and it was founded directly underneath the Clintons, but is now supporting Obama.
This isn't a conspiracy theory. Read for yourself.

In a Nutshell
In a Nutshell
Watch the three videos in order, from top to bottom, and then read. This is why the democratic party has gained my trust over the Republicans. It would be easy to claim that the PNAC video (first) and Olbermann's report (third), are propaganda, to be dismissed and ignored, but the fact of the matter is, they aren't just that. They are perhaps dramatic, but the truth they convey is a dramatic one. One that should not be ignored.
George Bush knew, eight months in advance of 9/11 that Osama Bin Laden was a threat to our country, and yet, he did NOTHING to prevent an attack on our country.
Now, this failure might have been forgivable if we attributed it to the fact that the Bush adminstration had just arrived in the white house, and had little time to prepare, because they were just starting out and they didn't have the experience, at the time, to deal with such a disaster. Such a failure might have been capable of redemption, if the Bush administration had thought that the oncoming disaster was just hoax, falsely grounded, a distraction from more important matters. But the truth is, the adminstration knew that something along the lines of 9/11 was going to happen, and knew that when it did, Bush would be granted the Special War Powers that he used to invade Iraq without consulting congress. The truth is, the Bush adminsistration allowed nearly 3,000 Americans to die on September 11th, because it was the fastest way to get at the oil supply in the Persian Gulf. The truth is, the members of the Bush administration, are traitors to our country.
It may seem impossible, that an elected president could do such a thing, but when you consider that the worlds oil supply is diminishing quickly (visit http://www.lifeaftertheoilcrash.net/) and that our society cannot function, as of now, without oil, and petroleum products, the Bush administration was truly trying to promote America's well-being, in the long run. The problem with their plan; however, is that it will turn the entire world against us. Which is why they saw the need for such a dramatic increase in defense spending. And while we might have had a fighting chance before, our economy is now stretched to its limits. It's time to focus our resources on renewable energy.
The republican party has failed us once, do not provide them an opportunity to do so again. Vote for Democracy. Not corruption, treachery and vile manipulation.

Settin' the Stage
Settin' the Stage
My name is Kyle Britto. I was raised by parents who were too young to be hippies during the Vietnam War, but still wanted to be. Maybe that's why I'm a Democrat. My hometown was, for the most part, very politically liberal. Maybe that's why I'm a Democrat. I've lived in California for nineteen years. Maybe that's why I'm a Democrat. I believe peace is always better than war, I believe that what is best for the most people is always best, and I believe that the entire worlds success, happiness, and continued well-being is as important as America's. Maybe that's why I'm a Democrat.
I don't attribute every positive change in world order to the doings of the Democratic Party, nor all the negative shifts to the doings of the Republican Party, but on the whole, the Democratic Party represents my understanding of goodness better than the Republican party, at least at this time in our country's history.
In the 1800's the Republican Party helped to bring about the illegalization of slavery, and women's suffrage, arguably two of America's greatest accomplishments. But oh, how they have fallen since those glorious days. They are now ruled by the corporations they rely on for campaign funding. They are now responsible for between 80,000 and 88,000 civilian deaths in Iraq (according to http://www.iraqbodycount.org/). And they are now servants of the radical Christian Evangelist agenda, which does not entail the peace, or the respect for other religions, nationalities and the environment that other sects of Christianity teach, and that the world needs right now. I could go on, but I need to reserve ammunition for later articles.
For the 2008 elections, I support Barack Obama. Of all the candidates, he has shown the most zeal for reforming America's government for the better. Just for being the first in this election to point out that there is something wrong with our government, and that we need to change it, not to mention the only candidate to vote against the war in Iraq four years ago, I think he deserves the White House.
